Excellent experience!!! Qualified guide staff. It's worth it.!! They have a price alternative for those who don't drink wine.
Great tour with Antonio the tour guide. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The winery itself is super cute and small. Just beware of the farm smell that comes in on the wind.
This was our third winery, and though it had the best wine, the atmosphere and experience were lacking.
We sat outside in the open. They have white tables, benches, and umbrellas for seating. Since there is no wait staff, you have to move the table and chairs yourself to get some protection from the sun. You order food and drink at the counter, and they buzz you when the order is ready.
The view of the vineyard is limited due to it being elevated. I am sure it is gorgeous from the second floor restaurant, but we did not check it out.
I wonder if I can order the wine online and have it shipped because I don't think I will return.

This place is pretty amazing! The views are wonderful. I highly recommend taking the tour and learning more about the history of Donato. The wine was some of the best I've ever tasted. My only complaint is there way too many kids, lots of families with children and babies. Babies. It really kills the vibe and pretty uncomfortable considering majority of people are constantly drinking. Just makes it kind of awkward to sit and enjoy your wine and there's a bunch of kids running around.
It’s a small winery right off the highway, not particularly impressive but the food is delicious. Tacos gobernador have to be some of the best I ever had! The chicharrón de carne with guacamole was great too! The grand reserva wine they have is also very delicious.
This is a great winery on the rout of wine, cheese, and art. Donato started out as a resistant years ago with their own beef grown on the property. They have expanded and created a winery with a great vibe. People here seemed so much happier than at other wineries around. They only grown a few grapes on site but have land locally where they grow the rest plus they have a partnership with Baja California for some of their wine blends. The tour was nice, everything is modern and new. The cellar is very cool. I don’t think they make the wine on site ( go to De Cote for that tour), and I think they have the best tasting wine in the area. Rodrigo was our tour guide and he was great, knowable, honest, and passionate about his work. This place is worth a visit, especially in the evening and night tour. Their hours are longer than most wineries so you can enjoy wine a sunset and a view of the Peña. Safe this winery for dinner as well as the meat is great here.
